How to become a member of the Ecclesia, the true Body of Christ

The Bible teaches, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

There is only one door or highway to heaven. "Jesus said to him, `I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father except through me. "' (John 14:6)

We have all sinned and are outside of the family of God.

"All we little sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way." (Isaiah 53:6)
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

We need to be cleansed or forgiven by the blood of Christ and clothed in His righteousness.

"Without shedding of blood is no remission." (Hebrews 9:22)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
"That if thou shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God hath raised Christ from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

True membership in God's family will show itself by turning to God, from sin in true repentance.

"How you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God." (I Thessalonians 1:9)
"God now commands all men everywhere to repent." (Act 17:30)
"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." (Act 3:19)

Repentance contains as an essential element genuine sorrow toward God on account of sin.

"For Godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation." (II Corinthians 7:10)

Since repentance is a change of mind, it will show itself in a thorough change of mind toward sin and toward God.

"Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)

If you are ready to admit you are a sinner and are willing to repent of your sin and believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross, I encourage you to pray this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as Lord and Savior. This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen

If you have prayed this prayer, I encourage you to do the following:

  1. Pray every day. When you love someone, the more you communicate, the deeper the relationship.

  2. Read your Bible. This is God talking to you. Read I Thessalonians, John, Luke.

  3. Find a church that teaches God's word and believes that Jesus Christ is God.

  4. Seek the fellowship of others who love Christ and study His word to grow in your Christian life.
